Tottenham flop N’Jie is not the man to make instant impact Fulham need

Fulham are among a host of Premier League clubs eyeing up a January swoop for Marseille forward Clinton N’Jie, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail report that the struggling Cottagers want to engineer a loan deal for the 25-year-old to add firepower to their survival bid.

They also reportedly face competition from fellow strugglers Cardiff, Burnley and Newcastle for N’Jie, who has started only four games for the Ligue 1 outfit this season.

He will be a familiar face to many in this country as he spent two years at Tottenham between 2015 and 2017, where he failed to make a significant impact.

That period at Tottenham should make it clear to Claudio Ranieri that N’Jie is not good enough to make an impact in the top flight.

He may well have improved since leaving Spurs – although his gametime this season and Marseille’s willingness to let him go would suggest otherwise – but he is not the man Ranieri needs to come in and make an instant impact.

Fulham have the likes of Floyd Ayite and Ryan Sessegnon out wide who can offer the speed N’Jie has and he has neither the physical presence or goalscoring touch needed to spearhead a struggling side’s attack.
