Tottenham fans ‘worried’ over ‘bizarre’ Monday announcement

Nuno Espirito Santo has made his first massive decision as Tottenham boss and it involves Tanguy Ndombele. The Frenchman has been left out of the manager’s squad for the Europa Conference League.

Spurs face Portuguese outfit Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday and the squad list has been listed on the UEFA website. It clearly shows that Ndombele and Serge Aurier are missing from Espirito Santo’s plans.

Ndombele missed the club’s pre-season campaign after becoming a father for the first team. Furthermore, he was also absent as Tottenham claimed a massive 1-0 win over reigning champions Manchester City on Sunday.

This doesn’t bode well for the £120,000-a-week player and as a result, his future now looks to be in question. Since signing for Tottenham in 2019 he has played 75 times for the club, scoring eight goals and registering as many assists.

This will only intensify speculation over his future. Ndombele is only 24 and Tottenham will want a big fee for a player who was among their better players last season.

He cost the club £63 million and perhaps the club might look to let him leave the club. Whether a loan or a permanent move would be sanctioned remains to be seen.

Tottenham fans shellshocked by this news over Ndombele

It’s fair to say this news has been met with some discontent. As a result, Tottenham fans don’t understand how Espirito Santo hasn’t registered the France international to play this Thursday.

Ndombele is a fan favourite at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. As a result, there have been some seriously worried comments doing the rounds on Twitter over this snub.

Of course, it could be that he just isn’t fit yet. Despite that though, some feel as though Espirito Santo is basically implying that he doesn’t want him as part of his squad for the campaign.

Following his Europa Conference League snub, supporters have taken to Twitter and we’ve taken a look at what’s being said by the Tottenham fan base.
