Tottenham Hotspur fans love Richarlison already, but what the Brazilian did after Antonio Conte was shown a red card against Chelsea will make fans love him even more.
The game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday was one feisty affair. Physical and verbal altercations on the pitch are really common in a London derby, and we’ve seen plenty of those over the years.
However, we’ve rarely ever seen a fight break down between the two managers, but that’s what happened on Sunday.
Both Conte and Thomas Tuchel were in each other’s faces on two different occasions at Stamford Bridge and had to be separated by everyone else around them.
Tottenham fans will love what Richarlison did after Conte got a red card
Conte and Tuchel received yellow cards for their altercation on the touchline following Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s equaliser in the second half. Many felt that would calm the two managers down – how wrong they were.
After the final whistle, Conte and Tuchel shook hands even though neither of them really wanted to. The Italian didn’t look the Chelsea boss in the eye when they shook hands, and that really irked him.
Tuchel refused to let go of Conte’s hand and had a real go at him. That caused a huge altercation, and almost everybody on the pitch had to intervene to separate the two.
Referee Anthony Taylor had no choice but to take the red card out of his pocket. He first sent Conte off and just as he turned around, Richarlison was there to tell him what to do next.
The Brazilian was spotted gesturing to Taylor to show Tuchel a red card too. Once the referee did that, Richarlison looked at the Chelsea boss and lifted his hands up as if to say: “What are you doing?”
Spurs fans who spotted that absolutely love Richarlison now – a lot more than they already did.

TBR View:
Many eyebrows were raised when Tottenham agreed a £60 million deal (Sky Sports) with Everton to sign Richarlison this summer. Even a few Spurs fans felt it was a lot of money, but Conte wanted him and he got his man.
Richarlison has only played one competitive game for Tottenham so far and that was off the bench against Chelsea on Sunday. He didn’t score or assist, but his introduction definitely had a positive impact.
Spurs instantly looked more dangerous with Richarlison on the pitch, and Sunday evening was just one example of how Conte could use the talented Brazilian in his system
Tottenham take on Wolves next – Conte may not be there but Richarlison almost definitely will.
