Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Joe Gelhardt’s performance for Leeds United on Sunday night, in what was his Premier League debut.
Gelhardt, 19, was handed his first Premier League start on Sunday as an injury-hit Leeds traveled south to take on Antonio Conte’s men.
Having netted in 17 goals in 26 appearances for the club’s Under-23 side. He has also laid on six assists for the second string since joining Leeds.
That form has seen him break into the senior side – scoring a penalty in a Carabao Cup shootout against Fulham. He got an assist against Wolves.
His darting turn and run against Wolves into the penalty area saw Leeds equalise in injury time. On Sunday, Gelhardt started against Tottenham.
While he did not score, he put himself about – even getting a yellow card against Eric Dier. He lasted 87 minutes, before Stuart McKinstry came on.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Leeds star Gelhardt?
The rise of Gelhardt is perhaps coming a lot sooner than Marcelo Bielsa imagined. But injuries have forced him into making that decision.
Both Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo were unavailable on Sunday. The form of Tyler Roberts convinced Bielsa to start Gelhardt up top instead.
In terms of injuries, whether Bamford will be fit enough to play next week remains to be seen. Leeds travel to Brighton next Saturday.
Leeds fans were impressed, and so were Tottenham supporters. Many Spurs fans discussed Gelhardt after his excellent display, praising the teenager.
