Tottenham squeezed past Aston Villa to secure a fourth win from seven Premier League games – and Spurs fans were impressed by Ollie Watkins.
Spurs came into the match off the back of three straight league defeats, losing last time out to bitter rivals Arsenal – a heavy 3-1 loss at the Emirates.
Watkins, 25, was excellent for Villa last season – scoring 14 goals and laying on five assists in 37 league games. It saw him win an England cap.
This time around, Watkins has not been firing on all cylinders but he was much-improved on Sunday. He got his first of the season, in his fifth outing.
It comes after the ex-Brentford man was picked to represent England over the next fortnight – with Patrick Bamford and Dom Calvert-Lewin injured.
Son Heung-min was excellent, getting a couple of assists. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Lucas Moura ancelled out Watkins’ goal.
But there is another lasting impression made by Watkins from Sunday’s match – and that is on Tottenham fans. Reports say Spurs like Watkins.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Villa star Watkins?
The Sun said last summer, that Spurs were looking at Watkins and they could continue to do so – with the North Londoners lacking back-up options.
Of course, £28million (Telegraph) Villa recruit Watkins can also play out wide. His speed suits the way Nuno looks like as if he wants to feature.
Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the performance of Watkins for Villa on Sunday, amid the reports that Spurs are interested in signing him.
