Tottenham Hotspur travel to Essex tonight to take on Colchester United in the EFL Cup. And it could be the perfect chance to introduce Troy Parrott to the world of senior football.
The Republic of Ireland youth starlet – who scored three goals in his first two games for his country’s U21 side – deserves his chance. Mauricio Pochettino clearly rates Parrott highly and a senior debut could be on the cards.
Parrott has been prolific at youth level and he is now edging closer to a chance with the senior squad. Having been involved in Pochettino’s pre-season plans, the EFL Cup gives him a chance to show his talent.

The 17-year-old is a natural finisher and given Spurs’ lack of strikers, he is not far down the pecking order. Harry Kane is the undisputed number one striker but Fernando Llorente’s exit has created a vacancy for Parrott.
Pochettino will probably rotate his squad tonight as he faces League Two side Colchester. Therefore, Parrott will be itching to make his debut. Here are some Spurs fans discussing this possibility.
