Tottenham fans want Ryan Sessegnon to start against Red Star Belgrade

Tottenham travel to Serbia to face Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night in the Champions League group stages – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have called for manager Mauricio Pochettino to play Ryan Sessegnon.

Spurs beat Red Star 5-0 at home in their last European fixture, but the group is evenly poised right now.

With Bayern Munich the outright leaders, Spurs sit second with four points and upcoming opponents Red Star are third with three points.

Pochettino’s team still have plenty of work to do if they want to reach the knockout rounds of the Champions League and can expect a hostile atmosphere in Belgrade.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media have claimed that Sessesgnon should get an opportunity in midweek.

The 19-year-old joined the club in the summer from Fulham and has had to watch on from the sidelines during the early months of the season through injury.

He made his senior debut at the weekend in the draw against Everton, but that was the briefest of cameos in stoppage time.

The English teenager is a highly-rated wide player that can play at left-back and as a left-winger, which should help him break into the team.

There are a number of fans that are desperate for him to earn his first start for the club against Red star and it would also be his Champions League debut.
