Tottenham fans want Romero and Rodon as first-choice centre-back pairing

Tottenham finally brought some cheer last night to their supporters with a comfortable 5-1 win over Slovenian side, Mura, in the Europa Conference League.

A hat-trick from Harry Kane sealed the deal in the second half after Mura had briefly threatened to come back into the game with a fine goal of their own.

But Nuno Santo’s decision to bring on Kane, Son, and Lucas completely changed the game. Mura, then, had little in reply to the England skipper’s masterclass in movement and finishing.

However, it was away from the attacking end of the pitch in defence where some Tottenham fans had eyes last night. Santo opted to go with a back four, and went with Cristian Romero and Joe Rodon as his pairing in the middle.

And while Mura didn’t prove the stiffest of tests, some Tottenham fans are convinced that Rodon and Romero has to be the starting pairing in future games.

Eric Dier has had his chances this term. Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez, too, have also had a go at centre-half. But with a win over Mura under their belts, some Spurs fans on Twitter think Rodon and Romero is the way forward.

Here, then, is what some Tottenham fans had to say.
