Tottenham have reportedly blocked approaches from clubs wanting to take Kyle Walker-Peters on loan – and some fans on Twitter are not pleased with the speculation.

The Sun reports that there has been interest from Crystal Palace, Brighton and RB Leipzig in taking the 22-year-old on loan.

It is understood that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to keep him around and that he could get the chance to succeed Kieran Trippier at right-back.

The report explains that the North London club have turned away enquiries for their young defender.

Walker-Peters has come through the youth ranks at Spurs and looks set to have a real crack at breaking into the first-team.

He’s been slowly integrated into the senior team with 10 appearances last season, but may end up starting the first day of the season with Juan Foyth suspended and Serge Aurier late back to pre-season.

A selection of Spurs fans are doubting whether Walker-Peters is ready to become a regular starter and have argued that a loan exit may have made sense for the new campaign.

Pochettino’s faith in inexperienced players has mainly worked in the past and it looks like he’s going down a similar path again.
