Tottenham fans want Eric Dier back for Colchester trip

Tottenham Hotspur face Colchester United tonight and Eric Dier is set to make his comeback. According to The Telegraph, Mauricio Pochettino will select Dier in his team to face Colchester in the EFL Cup Third Round tonight.

Dier has had to settle for a spot on the bench all season. He is yet to make his first appearance and tonight will give him his opportunity. Dier has a point to prove against the League Two side.

Pochettino has opted for other options in central midfield this season. The arrival of Tanguy Ndombele has pushed Dier down the pecking order. But the biggest kick in the teeth for the 25-year-old was Pochettino’s decision to bring on Victor Wanyama last weekend.

Dier has slipped down in Pochettino’s books but there are vacancies in the Spurs midfield. After another disappointing result on Saturday, Dier will be eyeing a recall to the side for Premier League and Champions League matches.
