Thomas Frank has already been assessing several Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of next season.
The Danish head coach has been tasked with helping Tottenham compete in multiple competitions next term following what was a dismal Premier League campaign.
To do so, Thomas Frank will need a squad deep enough to be able to fight on several fronts, and that could involve keeping some of the club’s academy stars.
There is one young star in particular who could be handed his chance in the first-team; however, supporters are unsure whether he is ready to make the step up.

Tottenham fans want Jamie Donley sent out on loan again
Tottenham Hotspur supporters want Jamie Donley sent out on loan again following what was a successful loan spell at Leyton Orient.
TBR Football revealed that Frank could give Donley first-team opportunities next season, despite the expectation being for him to head back out on loan.
The midfielder would have to make quite a significant step up from playing in League One to playing for a Champions League club in the top flight.
The midfielder netted eight goals and got ten assists, which was more than any other player in League One.
| Comp | Apps | Goals | Assists |
| League One | 39 | 8 | 10 |
| EFL Trophy | 4 | 0 | 0 |
| FA Cup | 4 | 0 | 1 |
| League One play-offs | 3 | 0 | 0 |
| EFL Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
| Total | 52 | 8 | 11 |
The Tottenham academy graduate was part of the Orient team that reached the League One play-off final, where they lost at Wembley to Charlton.
Spurs could do with Donley for their European squad in terms of ‘club-trained’ players, however, there are question marks as to whether he is ready for such a big leap.
Donley could join Ryan Mason at West Brom, which could be a great test for him playing Championship football.
After reading TBR Football’s exclusive on the 20-year-old, Spurs fans believe that the youngster would benefit from another season on loan first.
One fan said: “He faded off towards the end of the season, but was great overall. I think one more loan at a higher level really pushes him fitness-wise, as I don’t think League One pushed him enough to get to that next level just yet, but like Moore and others, massive futures ahead of them.”
Another claimed: “Nope, both he and Mikey Moore need Championship loans next season, preferably at the same club.”
There were further calls for him to join West Brom on loan: “Jamie Donley is in a fantastic position, either back at Tottenham or on loan at West Brom, a big year ahead.”
Finally, another stated: “I was at the playoff final, and I didn’t see a baller in him and definitely not first-team ready. As others say, maybe a season at a Championship club that plays good football, then make a call or sell.”
What Pep Guardiola said about Jamie Donley
Pep Guardiola hailed Donley after he forced Orient’s opener in the FA Cup clash with Manchester City back in February.
The legendary Spanish manager called him an ‘incredible left-footed player’ as he caused his City team plenty of issues in the tie.
Guardiola congratulated him on the goal after his team were forced to come from behind to win 3-1 in East London.
He told BeanymanSports: “What a goal. Fantastic, the shot and kick, the quality, technique, the speed, the flight of the ball, so when you concede this goal, it’s just, congratulate the guy.
“I think it was Donley. He’s an incredible left-footed player, we saw him and he scored a fantastic goal.”
