Tottenham fans urge Levy to snap up talented Serie A defender
Tottenham are stepping up their efforts to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to The Times. It is thought that the centre-back could cost £13 million this summer, alerting several clubs to his availability.
The 23-year-old can also operate at right-back and has been linked with Juventus and Sevilla already this summer. Now, Nuno Espirito Santo is ready to try and snap him up for his Spurs ranks.
Milenkovic cost Fiorentina just £4 million in 2017. It is thought that Fabio Paratici, the Tottenham sporting director, is a huge fan of the versatile performer and wants him in North London.
A day doesn’t seem to pass without Tottenham being linked with a central defender. Now, it would seem as though the club are preparing to up their efforts to land the Serbian international.
The 28-cap star has played 134 times for Fiorentina in total, scoring 11 goals for the club. He’s been a top defender in Serie A but seems destined to leave the club this summer.
That is music to the ears of Tottenham and they hope to land the £24,000-a-week youngster on the cheap before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.
Tottenham have also landed Cristian Romero from Atalanta this summer but more defenders are being sought by the club.
Tottenham fans keen on signing Milenkovic
It would seem that the signing of the uncompromising Serbian star would be a popular signing amongst the Spurs fan base.
Eric Dier flattered to deceive last season, although he and Davinson Sanchez were both brilliant in the win over Manchester City at the weekend.
Milenkovic would bolster the ranks and it’d be interesting to see whether or not Espirito Santo views him as a right-back or a central defender.
Nonetheless, the fans seem satisfied enough with this deal and as a result, they’ve taken to Twitter. Here is what they’ve been saying with regards to the latest reports.
