Tottenham fans urge Jose Mourinho to sign Timothy Castagne

Tottenham are reportedly planning a swoop for Atalanta star Timothy Castagne and their fans have been responding on Twitter.

According to Le10 Sport, the right-back is seen by Jose Mourinho as a player who could strengthen his squad ahead of next season.

It is also thought that talks are set to take place between the Spurs boss and the Belgian, with just a year left on the player’s contract.

Castagne has been an instrumental part of the Atalanta team that has defied the odds to reach the last eight of the Champions League this season.

The player is primarily considered a right-back but perhaps interestingly he’s played anywhere but there this season.

Castagne has operated on both flanks in more of a wing-back role this season, although Mourinho is thought to view him as a conventional right-back.

Tottenham are in need of some competition for Serge Aurier and the 24-year-old could be available.

Mourinho will want to be busy this summer as he looks to revive the team’s fortunes next season.

Qualifying for the Europa League looks on the cards and he will want to ensure his squad is well stocked.
