Tottenham fans urge Jose Mourinho to recall left-footer against Everton

Jose Mourinho is under pressure ahead of Monday night’s clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton following last Thursday’s defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane – and fans have urged him to make a change at left-back.

Spurs were comfortably beaten by Chris Wilder’s Blades last week, despite Sheffield United struggling since their return to Premier League action. Goals from Sander Berge, Lys Mousset and Oli McBurnie cancelled out Harry Kane’s consolation.

Spurs fans want changes, especially with two of Sheffield United’s three goals coming from the left flank – as crosses found both Berge and McBurnie to score. Ben Davies has started all of Tottenham’s three matches, but fans want him replaced.

Indeed, the Wales international is arguably Tottenham’s only natural, left-sided defender. Jan Vertonghen is a centre-back, while Ryan Sessegnon is more of wing-back or a left-sided attacker – but fans want the £25million (Mail) flyer to start.

Sessegnon, 20, is yet to play a single minute since the return to action. Remaining an unused substitute for the draw against Manchester United and a win over West Ham United, Sessegnon was completely dropped for the loss against Sheffield United.

But ahead of Monday night’s clash against Everton, Tottenham fans have urged Mourinho to recall Sessegnon against The Toffees – and drop £10million (Telegraph) signing Davies.
