Tottenham fans urge club to beat Moyes and sign Italian sensation, available on a free

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling West Ham and Newcastle for Napoli skipper Lorenzo Insigne – and Tottenham fans have reacted.

Insigne, 30, is out of contract at the end of the season and looks more and more likely to leave Napoli – his boyhood club, playing 414 times.

In that time, he has scored 114 times in that time, scoring at a better rate than one goal in every four games. He has also laid on 91 assists.

But he looks set to leave. CalcioMercato report that Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle are all looking to sign 53-time Italy international Insigne.

The race to sign Insigne is hotting up and it is fair to say that of the three clubs, Spurs might be leading the way – thanks to their Italian connections.

What do Tottenham fans think of Insigne, ahead of January window?

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is notoriously hard to deal with and that is likely to dissuade clubs from approaching a cut-price January move.

Napoli are likely to want to hold on to Insigne until the end of the season, even if it means they lose him on a free. He has repaid any transfer fee.

For non-Italian sides, they can speak to Insigne on a pre-contract basis from January 1. He can sign, but will only join at the end of his current deal.

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss a potential move for Insigne and many would love to see the winger signed as soon as possible.
