Reports on Saturday claimed that Harry Kane will ask Tottenham to leave the club if Champions League football isn’t on the table for next season.

The Athletic broke the news and naturally it has got Spurs fans hot under the collar on Twitter.

Losing Kane would prove catastrophic for Tottenham and his availability would spark some serious interest.

The 27-year-old has scored 29 goals and claimed 16 assists this season and has proved himself as one of the best centre-forwards in world football.

In 328 outings for the North London-based club, he’s scored 217 goals and is closing in on the club’s all-time record.

Tottenham could still claim a top-four finish this season, although they will need to go on a run and improve their form.

Given Kane’s apparent desire, securing Champions League football looks even more of a necessity for Jose Mourinho.

Following the latest news, we looked at what Tottenham fans were saying on Twitter.
