Tottenham fans thrilled with reported bid for Giovani Lo Celso

Tottenham have reportedly made a bid for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso – and some of the club’s supporters are thrilled with the speculation.

According to BBC Sport, Spurs have made an offer of around £53million for the Argentina internatonal.

It is understood that he’s got an £88million release clause and the La Liga club would prefer to offload him for a price similar to that.

The report details that Spurs will face competition for other Premier League clubs for the 23-year-old.

Lo Celso is an all-action central midfielder that is useful going forward and is defensively switched on too.

He made 45 appearances across all competitions this campaign, scoring 16 goals and supplying six assists in return.

The left-footed South American was loaned to Betis from Paris Saint-Germain and they triggered the option to buy him in April.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media are pleased with reported interest in Lo Celso and believe he could be a strong fit.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently have the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks in the centre of the park, but they are still yet to really replace Mousa Dembele after his January exit.
