Tottenham fans take to Twitter as Kane notches 40th England goal

Tottenham Hotspur fans have had the pleasure of watching Harry Kane score goal after goal.

For both club and country the 28-year-old has broken records and scored hundreds of goals.

For England, Kane now has 40 to his name having scored from the spot against Andorra, taking him level with Michael Owen on the all-time list of England scorers.

Kane now sits just 13 goals away from Wayne Rooney’s all-time record of 53 England goals, and that is certainly an achievable target.

At just 28-years-old with more international games being played than ever, and with England going further in tournaments in recent years, Kane could be looking at smashing Rooney’s 53 goals.

Did A Lightning Strike REALLY Kill An Entire Football Team?

At least now the Lilywhites can forget about the transfer drama that engulfed Kane over the summer.

Being able to focus on solely his goal scoring will come as a breath of fresh air.

Manchester City failed to sign the England captain over the summer, although they did manage to bring in Jack Grealish for £100m (BBC).

This has left Kane at Tottenham for at least another year and gives him a chance to add to his 223 goals for the clubs (Transfermarkt).

He’s already off the mark for the club this season, bagging twice in a 3-0 win over Pacos de Ferreira as Tottenham qualified for the Europa Conference League.

Now it’s just time for Kane to settle back into the Premier League side for Tottenham having missed out on the Manchester City game altogether and only made a cameo appearance off the bench against Wolves.

There was a start for Kane against Watford, but he’s clearly still getting up to speed and having gone away and scored twice for England in two games he should be returning to Spurs much sharper than he left.
