Erik Ten Hag is reportedly a target for Tottenham Hotspur as Daniel Levy looks to bring in a replacement for Jose Mourinho – and Spurs fans have reacted to a new report, by suggesting a swap deal in order to land the Ajax boss.

Ten Hag, 51, has emerged as one of the front runners to get the job at Tottenham – with Spurs and Ajax boasting solid relationship over the years. Spurs signed Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez from them.

The Telegraph claimed this week that among contenders such as Gareth Southgate, Roberto Martinez, Maurizio Sarri and Brendan Rodgers – Ten Hag has been added to the Spurs shortlist as he continues to impress as Ajax boss.

Meanwhile, Voetbal Krant have claimed that Ajax want Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld. The 32-year-old has a contract at Spurs until the summer of 2023 – but Ajax want him back, and face competition from PSV Eindhoven.

Spurs are expected to target a central defender this summer with the heart of the defence a clear issue. Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Alderweireld have all struggled – while Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga are still learning.

With Spurs eyeing Ajax’s manager and the Dutch side interested in Alderweireld, fans of the London club have put two and two together and suggested a swap deal that would see the duo swap clubs.
