Tottenham host Southampton on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have suggested that defender Kyle Walker-Peters starts.

Spurs are in huge need of a positive result at the weekend, as they are currently going through a poor run of results.

They were beaten by Colchester United on penalties in the Carabao Cup in midweek, lost away to Leicester City last weekend in the Premier League, while their previous Champions League fixture was a 2-2 away draw to Olympiacos.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media believe that Walker-Peters should be included in the side.

Walker-Peters started the campaign as the first-choice right-back, before an injury saw him removed to the sidelines.

The 22-year-old marked his return against League Two side Colchester and didn’t have much to do defensively, but was unable to provide the magic touch when attacking.

Serge Aurier appears to be in pole position to start against the Saints at full-back, but the manager may have a few tricks up his sleeve.

Walker-Peters is a young talent to come out of the academy, but the faith shown in him from supporters is slightly odd considering he can be lightweight defensively and his crossing needs to improve.
