Tottenham fans respond as club reportedly after Real Betis maestro William Carvalho

Tottenham Hotspur are one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in raiding La Liga side Real Betis for midfielder William Carvalho this summer – and Spurs fans have responded on Twitter to the news.

Carvalho, 28, has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years but has only played for two clubs throughout his career – eventually leaving Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2018 for Betis.

However, Transfer20 have claimed that five Premier League clubs are keen on landing the Euro 2016 winner. Tottenham are one of those clubs, as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in a central midfielder this summer.

But Spurs will face hefty competition. Leicester City are also keen, with the Foxes expected to qualify for Champions League football. West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also credited with an interest in Carvalho.

It is believed Carvalho will cost just £26million, a small price for a player that the Daily Express once reported that Cristiano Ronaldo had urged Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to sign – only three years ago.

Tottenham supporters have reacted on Twitter to reports that their club are interested in completing a deal for Carvalho, and some believe he would be a good signing for Mourinho’s side.
