Tottenham fans react to surprise Joao Cancelo links

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been giving their reaction to a surprise report linking the club with a move for full-back Joao Cancelo.

Spanish outlet El Desmarque have claimed Jose Mourinho is ready to move for his fellow countryman this month, and has even been in contact with the player.

Cancelo only joined Manchester City last summer in a reported £60 million deal that saw Danilo move to Juventus.

So far, he has made 18 appearances for the club, but started just 13 times.

Recently there has been a bit of speculation about his future, with City boss Pep Guardiola saying he needed to improve to get in the team or leave if he is unhappy (MEN).

It hasn’t been a straightforward transition for Cancelo, with Kyle Walker still largely preferred at right-back.

Spurs have had real trouble at right-back this season, with the departure of Kieran Trippier proving to be a bigger deal than was first thought.

Serge Aurier has struggled, while Kyle Walker-Peters has hardly had a look in.
