Antonio Conte’s Tottenham press conference was scheduled to start 1.30PM, but the Italian was late as training ran over – and Spurs fans have reacted.
Fans and pundits alike have alluded Tottenham’s lack of form of late largely down to a lack of work rate. They are bottom of the league’s running stats.
But with the appointment of Conte, many expect the Italian to get the Tottenham players back into shape. A no-nonsense boss; high demands.
Conte tasted victory in his first game in charge, just, with a 3-2 win over Vitesse Arnhem in the ECL – despite racing into a 3-0 lead after 30 minutes.
On Friday afternoon, Conte was expected to run a press conference at 1.30PM but it ran over by more than an hour. The team were still training.
That is according to Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick, who reported as much on Twitter. He said the session must be pretty intense.
What are Tottenham fans saying about Conte and his training?
It will be like music to the ears of Tottenham fans. For the entirety of the 2021-22, Spurs have watched lacklustre performances, bereft of any idea.
Of course, that might be partially forgiven if the Spurs players looked interested. If they looked like they wanted to work hard and put the graft in.
But that has not been the case – hence the dismal running stats which sees them 20th out of 20 after 10 games. Conte will not stand for that.
Clearly, he is making use of every hour possible. Tottenham fans have responded on Twitter to Kilpatrick’s update on Conte’s late presser.
