Tottenham fans react to reports club are close to £25 million deal

Some Tottenham fans have reacted to reports the club are close to signing Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez for £25 million.

Apparently Spurs are on the verge of bringing the Spaniard in as a replacement for Erik Lamela, according to CalcioNapoli24.

Perez’s stock is high at the moment having finished the 2018/19 season strongly.

The former Tenerife man scored 13 goals in all competitions and has emerged as a target for the likes of Arsenal and Napoli.

But it would appear that Spurs are in pole position for the forward if CalcioNapoli24’s report is anything to go by.

It could mean he becomes the first player to sign for Tottenham since Lucas Moura in January 2018.

Remarkably, Spurs haven’t brought anyone in since the Brazilian over 18 months ago, but find themselves about to contest a Champions League final with Liverpool.

Some see him as a potential squad player capable of filling in, while others simply don’t believe the quality is there.
