Tottenham reportedly failed with a late move to sign forward Eran Zahavi from Chinese side Guangzhou R&F – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were left frustrated with their transfer business.
The Telegraph reported on its transfer blog (10:42pm, 31 January) that Spurs were unsuccessful with a last-ditch attempt to bring in the 32-year-old.
Jose Mourinho’s failed to bring in the striker, but Odion Ighalo was one player that made a move late in the January transfer window from China to Manchester United.
The North London club now have to make do with what they have following the closure of the window and they were unable to sign a new striker.
With Harry Kane currently out injured, it means that inexperienced teenager Troy Parrott is the only recognised centre-forward and he’s yet to fully earn the trust of manager Mourinho.
That means that Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura are the attacking pair that are having to slot into central roles, despite being more effective from the wings.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media have been left angry that they couldn’t secure a late move for Zahavi and wanted an attacker through the door.
The experienced striker has scored 99 goals in 110 appearances for Guangzhou R&F, plus the Israel international has previously been a goal machine in his homeland too.
But he did have a difficult spell in Italy with Palermo and a step up to the Premier League would have been colossal.
