Tottenham are reportedly interested in defender Nordi Mukiele from Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are strongly excited by the speculation.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs are keen to strengthen at right-back in January and are looking at Leipzig’s enforcer to help them, as well as Max Aarons from Norwich City.

It is understood that the North London club were eyeing the French full-back back in 2018 before he joined German club Leipzig.

The report details that Leipzig want to keep hold of their best players, as they go in pursuit of a domestic top-flight title.

Mukiele has played 20 games across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and supplying two assists.

The 22-year-old is an athletic fast defender that has shown he can drop in at centre-back, but has been developed as a right-back by trade.

Spurs are certainly short in the right-back position right now, as Serge Aurier is far too inconsistent in the first-team and it would be a good idea for manager Jose Mourinho to improve his options.
