Tottenham fans react to reported interest in Everton Soares

A number of Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Sky Sports suggesting that Spurs are interested in Everton Soares.

The January window already looks as though it could be hugely important for Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs have made an underwhelming start to the campaign, but their 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade this week hinted that they have the potential to go into the second-half of the campaign with plenty to play for.

And it appears that one of the players that they could look to bring in is Everton. Sky Sports reports that chief scout Steve Hitchen has been monitoring the Gremio forward, who finished as the joint top goalscorer at this summer’s Copa America.

Everton has scored eight goals and provided four assists in the Brazilian top flight this year. He has the ability to play anywhere in attack, but has predominantly featured on the left wing for his club.

Tottenham fans delighted

The news that Spurs want the forward has gone down extremely well on social media. There are some who are concerned that he would be a risky signing. It is alarming to a handful of fans that another club has not come in for the 23-year-old so far.

However, plenty feel that he could be an inspired signing. Tottenham have some fantastic attacking options. And yet, some supporters believe that he would be an upgrade for Pochettino’s ranks, and hope that the club do everything they can to get a deal done.
