Eric Dier has reportedly picked up an injury during his time away with England’s national side – and some Tottenham fans on Twitter have reacted on Twitter to the news about their defender.

The Daily Mail claims that the Spurs man has a “minor hamstring problem” and as a result he’s doubtful to play ahead of Wednesday night’s game against Denmark.

England welcome Denmark to Wembley on Wednesday for a Nations League fixture, as they look to back-up their 2-1 win over Belgium from the weekend.

Dier completed 90 minutes in the Belgium fixture at the heart of a back three for Gareth Southgate’s team alongside Harry Maguire and Kyle Walker, but he may be missing in midweek game.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho has used Dier for every minute of the opening four Premier League games and has taken a liking to him since his appointment.

The 26-year-old made a real name for himself as a defensive midfielder earlier in his career, but he’s moved back the pitch to a centre-back role and it’s something that appearr to be works.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media have responded negatively to the Dier reports, with a couple suggesting it should speed up a deal to sign reported target Joe Rodon.

With the EFL transfer window still open until Friday, the North London club are being linked with Welsh centre-back Rodon from Championship club Swansea City.

The Daily Mail reports that Mourinho’s side are trying to sign the 22-year-old in what’s left of the window and Swansea want close to £20million for his signature.
