Tottenham fans react to report that they won’t pay Leeds’ asking price for Jack Clarke

Tottenham are unwilling to meet Leeds United’s valuation of promising winger Jack Clarke this summer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

They report that Spurs had a serious interest in the teenage midfielder who had something of a breakthrough sseason at Elland Road.

But Tottenham do not usually spend big money on players and there’s always a premium on young England talent anyway.

That’s likely to be the case even given Clarke’s relative lack of experience and his dwindling contract situation and Spurs are apparently not willing to go to that.

Tottenham fans think they’ve seen this one before – with regards their club not wanting to pay the asking price for a player whose value is only going to go up.

Jack Grealish and James Maddison are two recent examples from the Championship and some Spurs fans are fearing the same issues arising with Clarke…
