Tottenham fans react to report that club tried to use Walker-Peters to land Wan-Bissaka

Tottenham tried to use 22-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters as part of a deal to land Manchester United-bound star Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to the Times.

They report that Crystal Palace turned down the offer, which was designed to get down the cost of the England Under 21 international – but it didn’t work.

But it does suggest that Walker-Peters doesn’t have much of a future at Spurs, having failed last season to regularly push ahead of two unconvincing options in Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier.

Palace may apparently yet go for Walker-Peters, and some Tottenham fans took to Twitter to react to the prospect of losing the defender this summer.

Walker-Peters appears not to have convinced Tottenham fans either way on his qualities – some would like to keep him and see him promoted, while others wanted to get rid and actually fear for the prospects of being able to do so.

Perhaps Mauricio Pochettino is also undecided on the Englishman, but Tottenham would have been happy to trade him in for a younger player who kept him out of the squad for the Under 21 European Championship.
