Tottenham fans react to report about Serge Aurier’s injury on international duty
The defender managed to hurt himself when he wasn’t even playing.
Tottenham defender Serge Aurier is currently off on international duty at the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.
The £70,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender’s country will take on Algeria tomorrow night in the quarter-finals, and Aurier’s participation has been in doubt.
That’s because, as reported by Reuters, he managed to injure his wrist while watching – not even playing in – the last 16 clash against Mali.
He said: “I hit the table. We said a few truths to each other. Sometimes it feels good and I think the group needed it. I think I’m feeling better. There is still time before Thursday.”

And while the injury does not look to be a serious one that is likely to impact his ability to play for Tottenham next season, their supporters still had plenty to say about the report, which said he left the stadium with his hand in a splint.
Many fans feel it’s typical of Aurier’s character and were not surprised he’s managed to plunge new depths in terms of his recklessness.
It’s fair to say that Aurier is already not the most popular among the fanbase anyway and they are less than impressed with this latest report.
Darren Anderton mark 2.0.

Spurs fans: given his lack of awareness on the pitch surely Aurier can't be any dumber off it?
