Tottenham fans react to performance of Steven Bergwijn in European win

Tottenham progressed to the next round of the Europa League last night with a 3-1 victory over KF Shkendija of Macedonia.

Spurs took the lead through Erik Lamela but Valmir Nafiu equalised ten minutes after the interval.

Tottenham were forced into bringing the big guns on and goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min saw Jose Mourinho’s men home.

It saw Spurs continue their decent week, following on from Sunday’s 5-2 win over Southampton last weekend.

Following the game, Tottenham fans did notice something worrying and it involved the form of Steven Bergwijn.

The winger arrived from PSV Eindhoven in January and on the face of things, looked like being a decent addition to the squad.

He cost the club £27 million and prior to the postponement of the 2019/20 campaign he looks lively.

Following the restart, though he flattered to deceive and once again last night he was somewhat out of sorts.

The beauty of Bergwijn is that he can play in a number of different positions and fans are hopeful he can still develop as a player.
