Tottenham fans react to performance of Harry Winks during League Cup win

Tottenham booked their place in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 win over Stoke City. Harry Winks got a rare chance to shine and supporters raved about him afterwards.

Jordan Thompson equalised for the Championship outfit but goals from Ben Davies and Harry Kane ensured a relatively safe passage into the last four for Jose Mourinho’s men.

It was important for Tottenham to bounce back after suffering back-to-back league defeats at the hands of Liverpool and Leicester City.

It’s been many years since Spurs got their hands on silverware but they will genuinely believe they can end their wait this season.

Tottenham under Mourinho are a different animal and with Kane and Son Heung-min working wonders together you wouldn’t back against them.

It was another player last night who earned rave reviews for his performance, however, and it was midfielder Winks.

The 24-year-old has managed just five matches in the Premier League this season and that has led to speculation over his future.

Winks earns £50,000-a-week at Tottenham and will have aspirations of heading to the European Championships next summer.

He was one of Spurs’ best players last night and afterwards supporters took to Twitter.
