Tottenham fans react to performance of Dele Alli during Marine thrashing

Tottenham avoided an FA Cup banana skin by defeating non-league Marine 5-0 to ensure a safe passage into round four of the competition.

Spurs led 4-0 at the interval thanks to a Carlos Vinicius hat-trick and a scrumptious free-kick by Lucas Moura.

Substitute Alfie Devine put the seal on the victory during a routine second-half for Tottenham.

Marine’s finest moment of the contest came at 0-0 when Neil Kengni had Joe Hart all ends up, firing a long-range effort onto the crossbar.

It wasn’t to be for the minnows, however, and Mourinho will have been delighted with his team’s professionalism.

Plenty of fringe players got the chance to shine during the contest and one of those was Dele Alli.

Despite playing against lower league opposition, he showcased his talents with an accomplished performance.

Speculation remains rife regarding the 24-year-old, with some suggesting he could leave the club this month.

On this showing, however, Mourinho might just keep the youngster around and use him in the Premier League.

Alli earns £100,000-a-week at Tottenham but has found regular football hard to come by during 2020/21.

With Giovani Lo Celso set to be out for around a month, however, this was a timely performance.
