Tottenham fans react to omission of Lucas Moura from Brazil’s squad

Lucas Moura has been left out of Brazil’s squad for the Copa America tournament this summer – and some Tottenham fans on Twitter feel that he’s been hard done by.

South American giants Brazil have named a 23-man squad for the Copa America and manager Tite has left out the Spurs attacker.

Moura was included in Brazil’s squad for two friendlies back in October 2018, but apart from that has been overlooked in recent years and the majority of his 35 caps came between 2011-13.

The 26-year-old has been in brilliant form this season for Spurs and looks like he’s getting back to his best.

He’s managed 15 goals across all competitions this term and focus is now on the Champions League final against Liverpool on 1 June.

Moura famously scored a stunning second-half hat-trick against Ajax in the semi-finals to see Spurs progress to the final and he’s written his name into the club’s history books.

The centre-forward has provided some major moments for Mauricio Pochettino’s team this season and will hope he has one more left in him.

A selection of Spurs fans believe Moura’s international snub is a mistake, but it does mean he will get the summer to rest ahead of next season.

There is fierce competition for the attacking spots in the Brazil squad, but Everton’s Richarlison did make the final cut.
