Dele Alli will not be in Tottenham’s squad to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup tonight, according to The Telegraph – and supporters have been reacting on Twitter.
The attacking midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but had been expected to get a chance this evening.
Jose Mourinho’s team could have a weakened feel to it this evening, with Tottenham due to face Maccabi Haifa on Thursday in the Europa League.
PSG have been linked with a move to sign the England man on loan and this latest setback for Alli will only intensify those reports.
The 24-year-old has played twice this season but hasn’t made the squad for Tottenham’s last two fixtures against Southampton and Newcastle.
It represents a real shame for a player who was once viewed as English football’s next big thing and his future appears to be in limbo right now.
Alli has scored 62 goals and claimed 55 assists for Tottenham during his 224 games for the club and arguably deserves more of a chance.
Mourinho appears to have made a decision though and his future could lie away from North London.
Following this latest news, we looked at what Tottenham fans were saying on Twitter about the attack-minded midfielder.
