Tottenham Hotspur want to sell Christian Eriksen in January and will accept £30m bids. But Eriksen will reject the opportunity to leave Spurs in January, according to The Daily Mail.

Eriksen will turn down any move because he wants to leave on a free transfer next summer. Real Madrid and Barcelona are two potential destinations and he is eyeing a more lucrative contract and a signing-on bonus. He thinks this will come next summer rather than in January.

The Denmark midfielder nearly left last summer and he is in the final year of his contract. Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly “annoyed” that the 27-year-old is still on Tottenham’s books. But it does not look like an exit is coming in January as things turn sour.

Tottenham fans are understandably frustrated by this latest update. Eriksen’s form has been erratic this season and he looks like he’s downed tools. And now it seems that he wants to squeeze every last penny out of the club and leave without a transfer fee.
