Tottenham fans react to Joe Hart’s comments about squad rotation

Joe Hart has commented on Tottenham Hotspur’s squad this summer and has stated that the north London club’s players must get used to squad rotation as they look to remain competitive on all fronts – and Spurs fans have applauded the goalkeeper.

Hart, 33, joined Tottenham in the summer on a free agent after he was released by Burnley. The 75-time England international’s career has spiralled downhill after being ousted by Pep Guardiola in 2016. Loan spells at Torino and West Ham followed.

Then, Hart moves to Burnley for two seasons – but managed just 24 outings. Now, the experienced goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with Spurs and has overtaken Paulo Gazzaniga as the club’s number two, already playing twice for Spurs.

“It’s a powerful squad, a squad that is starting to realise how special it could be,” Hart told the club’s website. “It’s a squad where it’s been proved already that everyone has a role to play. If we’re going to be successful, we need to get our heads around that.”

Spurs have qualified for the Europa League group stage after a 7-2 win over Maccabi Heifa – in which Hart played. It sees the north Londoners add another six games to their fixture list, including away trips to Belgium, Bulgaria and Austria.

They remain in the last eight of the Carabao Cup after a penalty-shootout win over Chelsea, while Jose Mourinho will be looking to take Spurs back into the top four. A big squad is needed, and Hart’s comments have hit the nail on the head.
