Tottenham Hotspur suffered an injury blow in yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, with Son Heung-min going off with a hamstring problem.
Jose Mourinho implied after the game that the South Korean will be out for a while, although the exact time scale is not known.
It provides Tottenham and their supporters with a double whammy from a desperately frustrating afternoon on home soil.
Tottenham led through a Lucas Moura and were rarely threatened by a Newcastle side who had Karl Darlow to thank for keeping the score down.
Deep into stoppage time, VAR showed that Eric Dier handed an Andy Carroll header in the penalty box, however, allowing the Magpies a chance to rescue a point.
Callum Wilson stepped up and fired beyond Hugo Lloris to give Newcastle an undeserved point.
It’s perhaps the injury to Son which will sting the most, however, and Mourinho will surely ramp up his attempts to land another attacking option.
Tottenham are now a Harry Kane injury away from a similar sort of catastrophe to last season when Mourinho was without his two forwards for some considerable time.
Following an injury to the £140,000-a-week player, we looked at what Tottenham fans were saying.
