Tottenham fans react to Giovani Lo Celso’s performance against Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the performance of Giovani Lo Celso against Manchester City on Sunday.

The midfielder was handed another start by Jose Mourinho, and was deployed alongside Harry Winks in the engine room at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Argentina international produced a superb display during the 2-0 win for the hosts, and was heavily involved despite the visitors having the bulk of the possession.

Lo Celso had 61 touches in the game and recorded a pass completion rate of 85% (@LastWordOnSpurs).

He also won 13 duels, made four clearances and made a couple of tackles in a pretty impressive defensive showing.

And according to BBC Sport, he also covered 11.87km – which was more than any other Spurs player.

It was yet another occasion where Lo Celso featured deeper than usual, with Dele Alli playing in the number 10 role to support Lucas Moura, with Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn starting out wide.

It appears to be a role that suits the 23-year-old, who turned his loan move to the club permanent in January.

The star will have done no harm to his chances of starting the next game against Southampton on Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round replay.
