Tottenham’s Eric Dier has claimed he’s been pleased with his own form for the majority of the season – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are not happy with his comments.

Dier, 27, has been a regular in the starting XI for the majority of the campaign, with Spurs boss Joe Mourinho using him solely as a centre-back.

The England international has been in and out of the side during the past few weeks, with the manager searching for his best centre-half combination.

He’s been guilty of a couple of individual errors this campaign, but does look more settled as a regular defender that as a midfielder.

Dier has given a self assessment of his form during the 2020/21 season so far:

“I have been happy with my level for the majority of the season. There has been a dip in it which correlates with the team in general and the performances in general,” Dier said, as quoted by Football.London.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media are majorly frustrated with Dier’s comments, suggesting it shows a weak mentality and they feel he’s been poor at times.

It’s worth noting that the team are struggling down in ninth in the Premier League table, albeit they are in the Carabao Cup final and still in the Europa League.

There has been major issues in the backline during the past couple of months for the North London club despite being so consistent in that department earlier in the campaign.

Dier is one player that one Spurs fans have huge doubts about:
