Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Nathan Ferguson interest reports

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun suggesting that Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign Nathan Ferguson from West Bromwich Albion in January.

Full-back continues to be a problematic area for Spurs. Serge Aurier has struggled to step up since Kieran Trippier’s departure. Meanwhile, the likes of Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez have not exactly proved to be inspired selections in that position.

The Sun reports that addressing the right-back situation is likely to be a priority for Pochettino in January. And his scouts are reportedly raving about Ferguson.

The 19-year-old has been outstanding in the opening weeks of the season with West Brom. He has actually played more often at left-back, but his long-term future appears to be on the other flank.

The Sun reports that Spurs are looking to make a £10 million bid for the teenager in January. It is also suggested that West Brom are hoping to agree a contract extension with the academy graduate.

The news has divided Spurs supporters on social media. There are some who appear to be frustrated with the idea of Pochettino targeting a Championship youngster over a marquee signing who would be an immediate upgrade on his current options.

However, those who have seen Ferguson play are a lot happier about the rumours. They believe that he is destined for an incredibly bright future at the highest level.

It would appear that Ferguson would have to win a section of the Spurs fanbase over if he did join. But judging by some of the other responses to the reports, it would appear that he definitely has the potential to be a fantastic signing if Pochettino does make a move.
