Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Jamie Bowden goal

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to laud Jamie Bowden after the midfielder scored a stunning goal out on loan.

Oldham remain in bother in League Two. The Latics sit second-bottom and they have now lost three of their last four.

Their latest defeat came on Saturday as they travelled to Exeter City. Two defensive mistakes saw the home side go 2-0 up after 50 minutes.

Ultimately, the visitors were unable to do much. But Bowden was able to give them a glimmer of hope with six minutes remaining.

The Republic of Ireland youth international scored a stunner to halve the deficit. He found the top corner with a rocket from outside the box.

It was an outstanding finish for the first professional goal in his career. He had previously provided two assists for Keith Curle’s side.

Obviously, it is going to take something special for Bowden to really catch the eye of those back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while he is away.

But the technical ability involved in his strike on Saturday highlighted the potential that the 20-year-old could have.

Certainly, and unsurprisingly, the goal caught the eye of plenty of Tottenham fans on social media.
