Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Harvey White’s pre-season display

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to laud Harvey White after the 18-year-old’s first-half display in their pre-season victory over Reading on Thursday.

White was one of a number of young players to feature in the weekend win over Ipswich Town at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And he was handed a further boost for the game against the Royals as he was promoted to the starting lineup by Jose Mourinho.

It seemed to be a telling move from Mourinho. White was surrounded by a side that, barring a couple of exceptions, could hardly be any stronger on paper.

But the teenager vindicated his inclusion in the team. He was excellent throughout a first-half that Spurs dominated.

He looked composed on the ball and used it superbly. And he also impressed with the protection that he provided to the backline.

And he appears to have whetted the appetite amongst the Spurs fans on social media. Many have expressed their excitement about his potential and the role that he could play over the coming months.

Of course, the supporters are not getting carried away. But many saw glimpses of quality that suggest that White has serious potential.

He has certainly been earmarked as a player to keep a keen eye on in the coming years.
