Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Fernando Llorente return reports
The Independent has reported that Tottenham Hotspur’s striker search could see Jose Mourinho bring a familiar face back to the club this month – and the fans are very divided by the reports.
Spurs are set to be without Harry Kane for a significant period. And that leaves the club with a major issue to address before the transfer window shuts.

The Independent reported this week that Mourinho already wanted a new striker before Kane headed for the sidelines. So he now has his eye on two new forwards.
And it appears that plenty of agents have made contact with Spurs about a potential move. The Independent suggests that the likes of Christian Benteke and Edinson Cavani have been linked.

But another name to have been offered to Tottenham is Llorente, according to the Independent.
Tottenham fans divided
And that has prompted a fiery debate on social media as Spurs fans discuss the possibility of bringing the Spaniard back.
Some would clearly be happy to see Llorente return. He is clearly not the long-term answer. And it would be underwhelming if he was the only striker brought in.
But he did score some important goals during his spell with Spurs, and some are convinced that he could do a job for the rest of the season.
However, just as many supporters seem to have slammed the suggestion of bringing Llorente back. They believe others may be looking back at his spell through rose-tinted spectacles, and have insisted that he is not good enough.
Here is what some of the fans make of the links with Llorente…
imagine wanting llorente back?..huge backwards step when we should be looking for an upgrade #THFC

Disappointed how the club treated Llorente, he should have stayed and is exactly the kind of traditional/old school centre forward we need to complement the many skillful attacking midfielders/forwards we have in abundance (Lucas, Son, Dele, Lamella). #bringbackLlorente #COYS

Signing Benteke and Llorente is the modern day Saha and Nelson. Jose wants better players but Levy doesn’t care and gets a cheaper option https://t.co/aZVg2dIBko
