Tottenham Hotspur may have an opportunity to reach the quarter-final of the Champions League this week, but plenty of fans are wishing that the season would just end now after Spurs provided an injury update on Steven Bergwijn on their official website.
Jose Mourinho’s men have endured a terrible run of luck with injuries in recent times. Harry Kane and Son Heung-min look set to be sidelined for some time.

The likes of Lucas Moura, Dele Alli, Erik Lamela and Bergwijn have attempted to shoulder the attacking burden in their absences.
But Tottenham have now been dealt another major blow on the injury front.

The club have confirmed on their official website that Bergwijn has suffered a significant sprain to his left ankle. It is noted that he will now begin an extended period of rehabilitation.
Perhaps worryingly, the club have not put a timescale on when they are expecting Bergwijn to be back available. But words such as ‘significant’ and ‘extended’ in the statement appear ominous.
And plenty of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their disbelief. They cannot believe their luck with Bergwijn becoming the latest attacking player to be ruled out.
They are very pessimistic about their chances against RB Leipzig in the Champions League this week. And they are not very hopeful about the side’s chances of success going forward with Bergwijn joining Kane and Son on the sidelines.
