Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Christian Eriksen’s assist for Denmark

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to Christian Eriksen’s superb assist for Denmark in their 1-0 win over Switzerland this weekend.

Eriksen would have been one of the players probably grateful for the international break. The playmaker has been poor for Spurs this season.

His situation has not been helped by the uncertainty surrounding his future. As reported by the Daily Mirror, Eriksen is out of contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season.

But he was able to briefly put the speculation to one side on Saturday as Denmark faced Switzerland in Euro 2020 qualifying.

In truth, Eriksen actually had a poor evening. And the Danes only went into the latter stages of the contest still level thanks to a brilliant performance from Kasper Schmeichel.

But Eriksen did produce a moment of sheer class for the decisive goal in the 84th minute. The 27-year-old found Yussuf Poulsen with an outstanding pass that allowed the forward to go through and find the back of the net.

Plenty of Tottenham fans have expressed a sense of frustration. They are disappointed that he can produce such a moment of quality for his country, but is seemingly unable to do the same for Mauricio Pochettino’s men at the moment.

There is definitely a sense of resignation amongst the Spurs fans. Some clearly believe that he is on his way out of the club, and are convinced that his best days in a Tottenham shirt are behind him.

Here is how some of the Tottenham supporters reacted to his assist…
