Tottenham fans react on Twitter as player linked with teaming up with Nacer Chadli

Tottenham Hotspur teenager Jonathan De Bie could reportedly leave Spurs on a free transfer this summer and link up with Nacer Chadli at Anderlecht, but the Belgian side may find they have competition – and Tottenham fans have reacted.

De Bie, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season and is looking more and more likely to leave the club for nothing – especially given Under-23 competition Alfie Whiteman and Brandon Austin have both signed contracts of late.

With his contract set to end in June, Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad have reported that Anderlecht want to take him back to his home country. However, Vincent Kompany’s side face competition from KV Mechelen and KAA Gent.

Jose Mourinho has options between the sticks even with Michel Vorm due to leave the club this summer. Captain Hugo Lloris remains first choice, while Paulo Gazzaniga has clocked up 25 appearances in all competitions this term.

De Bie has only played seven times for Tottenham’s Under-23 side since joining the club from Mechelen in the summer of 2018. Indeed, the likes of Austin and Whiteman have been used more often by Spurs’ second string.

Now, with the player set to leave, Anderlecht are keen to lure him back to Belgium but many Spurs fans are not impressed that he could be about to leave. One fan claimed he is “better than Vorm”.
