Tottenham fans react on Twitter as Erik Lamela remains sidelined through injury

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed on their official Twitter account that Erik Lamela will remain sidelined through injury for Sunday afternoon’s clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.

Lamela, 27, has missed Tottenham’s last 10 league and cup outings after a picking up a hamstring injury during training at Hotspur Way. This season, the £30million signing (Guardian) has clocked up just 13 appearances for Spurs.

It is not the first time Lamela has spent considerable time on the sidelines. Between October 2016 and November 2017, Lamela was sidelined for more than a year due to a double hip operation. He has since returned, but the proneness to injury remains.

Tottenham confirmed on their official Twitter account that the Argentina international would miss out against Wolves on Sunday, with the winger yet to feature under Jose Mourinho.

Ben Davies has travelled to Qatar to work on his ankle problem, while Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm and Tanguy Ndombele also remain sidelined. Harry Winks, though, has returned to training after picking up an ankle injury.

Tottenham fans reacted to the news that Lamela would be missing an 11th consecutive match, and many are becoming fed up with the former Roma star for his constant battle with injuries.
