Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose this month according to reports from Spain, as he continues to score regularly in La Liga – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news.
Jose, 28, has scored eight La Liga goals for Sociedad this season in 20 league outings. Not only does the Brazilian find the back of the net on a regular basis, but he is more than capable of contributing to play.
Since joining Sociedad, he has clocked up 130 appearances and had a hand in 66 goals – scoring 53 and creating 13. Despite failing to play for Brazil, Jose has constantly been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Now, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo are claiming that striker Jose has become a target for Tottenham this month. The Sun claim he has a release clause of £60million, and Sociedad will only let him leave if that fee is met.
However, Jose is now 28 and if he is to move to the Premier League, he will need to do it soon as he closes in on becoming 30. The chance to play for last season’s Champions League finalists and Jose Mourinho will prove tantalising.
Tottenham fans have reacted to the reported news on Twitter that their club are interested in signing Jose from Sociedad, and many supporters believe the signing would be a good one as the club look to replace injured Harry Kane.
Now this is someone i really would vouche for.
